About Peter Attia →
Peter Attia is a Canadian-American physician whose work focuses on longevity, healthspan, and preventive medicine. He earned a B.Sc. in mechanical engineering and applied mathematics from Queen's University at Kingston (1996) and an M.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine (2001). He then trained for five years in general surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital and spent two years at the National Institutes of Health as a surgical oncology fellow at the National Cancer Institute, where his research focused on immune-based therapies for melanoma. After leaving residency, he worked at McKinsey & Company, co-founded the Nutrition Science Initiative (NuSI) with Gary Taubes in 2012, and in 2014 founded a private medical practice focused on longevity. He hosts The Peter Attia Drive podcast, which covers longevity, metabolic health, and medical research, and authored the New York Times bestseller "Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity" (2023, with Bill Gifford). He also appeared in the National Geographic/Disney+ documentary series "Limitless with Chris Hemsworth."
