Privacy Policy
What data Cited collects when you visit, why, who processes it, and the rights you have over it. The short version: anonymous analytics only after you consent, no accounts, no ads, no selling data.

Who we are
Cited is operated by Hungry Monster, Inc. ("Hungry Monster", "we", "us"), the company that owns and runs the website at cited.co — a free, public index of recommendations experts make in public podcasts and talks. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit, why, and what rights you have over it. It applies to cited.co. The data controller responsible for your personal data is Hungry Monster, Inc.
What we collect
- Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — pages viewed, approximate location (derived from your IP, which Google truncates), device and browser type, and how you arrived. This is collected only after you accept analytics cookies (see below). We do not use it to identify you personally.
- What you send us. If you email us — for example to report a correction or a privacy request — we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to respond.
We do not have user accounts, collect payment information, sell data, or run advertising.
Cookies & consent
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you click Accept, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode that sets no identifying cookies (Google Consent Mode v2, default denied). If you click Accept, GA sets cookies that help it count returning visits more accurately. If you click Decline, no analytics cookies are set.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies and site data in your browser; the banner will reappear on your next visit. Most browsers also let you block cookies globally.
Who processes your data
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the site. They process data on our behalf:
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — usage analytics. See Google's privacy policy.
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery. Vercel processes standard server request logs (including IP addresses) to serve and protect the site. See Vercel's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare — DNS and network. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Our email is handled by Google Workspace.
Legal bases (for EU/UK visitors)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for analytics cookies (which you can withdraw at any time), and on our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the site for the basic server logs needed to deliver it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we don't maintain accounts, the main personal data we hold is what you send us by email and aggregate analytics that isn't tied to your identity. To make a request, email privacy@cited.co. We do not sell personal information.
Data retention
Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' configured retention period and in aggregate thereafter. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to handle your request and our records, then deleted.
International transfers
Cited is operated from the United States, and our providers may process data in the U.S. and elsewhere. By using the site you understand your data may be processed in countries with different data-protection laws than your own.
Children
Cited is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. We'll change the "last updated" date above when we do; material changes will be reflected here.
