Wim Hof, born 20 April 1959 in Sittard, Netherlands, is a Dutch extreme athlete and motivational speaker known as "The Iceman" for his ability to withstand extreme cold. He is the founder of the Wim Hof Method (WHM), a practice combining breathing techniques, cold exposure, and mindset/commitment training, which he markets through his company Innerfire. He has held multiple Guinness World Records, including for prolonged full-body ice contact and a barefoot half marathon on ice and snow. The method has been the subject of scientific studies examining its effects on the autonomic nervous system, immune response, and inflammation, though results have been mixed. He is the author of "The Wim Hof Method" and co-author of "Becoming the Iceman."
